In 2013 F-V Downtown will hold an event to help us reach our 2013 goals. Date of the event is to be determined. In order to help us prepare, the community is encouraged to donate items for the auction. Neighbors, supper clubs, co-workers, friends, businesses, churches, civic groups and sports teams can be represented as people who support downtown! To inquire about what is needed for donations, contact director@fuquay-varinadowntown.com.

Dick Vitale shows his love for this small town
The legendary Dick Vitale is "Awesome, baby!" He generously donated an autographed copy of his book to the auction for downtown's 2013 auction. Dick Vitale is well-known for his support of nonprofits and important causes such as the V Foundation. He began as an ESPN college basketball analyst back in 1979, after a successful coaching career. We are incredibly appreciative of his support of our efforts to improve our small town and enhance our sense of community.
Get involved and help to improve your community!
There are numerous ways to help downtown. We can all benefit from a thriving downtown area. Increased visibility of local businesses will help money to stay in our local economy. Increased restaurant and retail offerings will provide convenience and fun. Open spaces and parks will help us to all be more active. An improved farmers' market will help us all to be more healthy. Downtown belongs to all of us - residents of Fuquay-Varina and the surrounding communities, neighboring towns, and the greater region, all of which can derive enjoyment from our beautiful downtown and its offerings.
If you are a local individual or family, please consider making a basket to donate to the event. If you are unable to make an auction basket, consider donating an item or a small amount of money that can be pooled with others to purchase a larger item for the auction. For more information on donating money for auction items please click here.
If you are a member of a community or church group, please consider asking your fellow members to come together and create an auction basket or purchase a unique item to be auctioned off. Purchasing items from local merchants has the added benefit of helping the local economy while also contributing to the fundraising event. One local supper club used this idea and pooled their money to purchase a Southern Tides YETI cooler to donate to the event. For more information on donating items to the auction please click here.

A live auction item that gives you a chance to make a difference...
One way that the Growers Market of Fuquay-Varina has helped the local community is through its support of the Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry. A recent old-fashioned weenie roast at the market organized by Chef Joseph Fasy raised funds to support the pantry in its efforts to feed families in need throughout our local area.
During our 2013 auction, you will have the chance to bid on naming rights to a food drive to be conducted at the Growers Market in downtown Fuquay on a Saturday in late spring of 2013. The food drive will be publicized locally and online, and individuals visiting the market will be asked to donate food items for the food pantry. The purchase of the naming rights for the 2013 food drive will allow you to promote your company, make your family famous around town, pay tribute to your softball team, or perhaps honor a loved one. (The Fuquay Varina Downtown Association will reserve the right to reject names that may be considered inappropriate/offensive.) Purchasing this auction item will allow you to support not only the FVDA, but also the food pantry, allowing your donation to "double" its benefit to the community.
